We talked to PrettyLitter subscriber Autumn M. about Bailey and here’s what they had to say:
My sister and her husband had a feral cat colony in their town that they were feeding and doing a spay/neuter trap and release. One day they looked on their back porch where they fed the cats and saw a kitten only a few weeks old and very sick. They hadn't seen her before. She was rushed to the vet and they treated her and put her on antibiotics, but said she might not make it because she was so young and had such a bad upper respiratory infection. She had to be syringe fed kitten milk and antibiotics for weeks, but somehow she pulled through! Once she was strong enough to walk, that is when we noticed the wobbling and realized she had cerebellar hypoplasia. She has made great improvements with her walking and how she gets around. She even bunny hops across the yard since she realized that works better than running for her. Haha. She’s such a sweet, happy, lucky kitten!
One Interesting Fact About Bailey
Bailey has cerebellar hypoplasia or “wobbly cat syndrome.” It affects the part of the brain that controls balance and movement. But she doesn't let that stop her! She loves to chase her older brothers and go for walks outside.
Bailey’s Favorite Pastime
Going outside. Playing with her brothers, Remi & Theo. Snuggling with her mommy.
Bailey’s Most Mischievous Behavior
She is VERY good at hiding! If she knows she is going somewhere in the car she is impossible to find!
If your cat could have one thing unlimited for the rest of time, what would it be?
Outside play time.
Thank you for sharing your story, Autumn and Bailey!
